Monaghan Fresh Produce has a long history in the Fruit & Vegetable Industry. The company originally traded as Barker-Monaghan Packers, which was established in 1978 by Ed Monaghan. Today, Stephan Monaghan continues the family business as Managing Director.

The main focus of the company in the early years was Onions for export and local markets as well as Peeling Onions for the major processing companies. Whilst the company has added other products to its sales list, we still maintain our original focus and supply a majority of the same customers from the early years. Many of our early Growers are still supplying top quality produce to Monaghan Fresh Produce and our Customers as well.

Monaghan Fresh Produce Pty Ltd is a solid family business with full time employees and seasonal staff. The products we now trade in are Onions, Potatoes (both ware and seed), Garlic, Shallots, Apples, Pears and Grapes.

We still supply Onions to the Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne Markets, as well as to Prepackers and the Supermarket trade.

Our focus on Export has continued and we now export Onions, Potatoes, Potato seed, Apples, Pears and Grapes to seven countries across the globe.

At Monaghan Fresh Produce we strive to have the best Quality Produce available for our Customers, achieving this through our strong long term relationships with some of the best produce growers in Australia. Therefore maintaining a reputation as suppliers of top quality Fruit & Vegetables throughout Australia.

To ensure our customers receive our produce fresh and on time we have our own modern refrigerated semi trailers, as well as having reliable sub-contractors.

In March of 2000 we were accredited under the SQF 2000 quality code, using the HACCP system. Our dedication is to provide the best quality product to our customers. We are regularly audited by SGS International Certification Services as well as conducting regular internal audits. Our inspection procedures and specifications ensure that consistency and quality are maintained.

IMPORTS
Countries we import from include the USA, Netherlands, Mexico and New Zealand. We source the best quality Garlic, Onions and Shallots to serve our Supermarket, Fresh Market and Processing Customers. Like most of our business we have built up long standing relationships with the people we purchase our products from.

We use both Sea and Airfreight to fit in with our customers needs. We are able to sorce many other products just ask.

EXPORTS
Our exports include Onions, Potatoes for Crisping, Potato Seed, Grapes and Pears to a host of countries. Such as Indonesia, Italy, New Zealand, Netherlands, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The products we export are used for Supermarkets, Fresh Markets, Processors and On Growing.
