Bloom Fresh International Limited Awarded Significant Damages for PVR Infringement In Landmark Civil Judgment in China
Bloom Fresh International has secured a landmark first-instance legal victory in China confirming infringement of its Plant Variety Rights for its proprietary IFG Six grape variety (SWEET SAPPHIRE™). The court found that unauthorized parties illegally produced and commercialized the variety and awarded over RMB 4 million in damages — a significant precedent for PVR enforcement in China.
The ruling reinforces Bloom Fresh’s long-standing efforts to protect its intellectual property following its recent legalization program for growers, and sends a strong signal that the company will continue to actively pursue infringers while supporting legitimate partners. The judgment highlights growing judicial commitment in China to safeguarding innovation and strengthening a fair, sustainable fresh produce industry.
